Originally from the Riverina region of NSW, Jess grew up on a family run, mixed commercial property where
she learnt to ride horses whilst mustering. She was surrounded by a family interest in horses, which included
Jess has an identical twin sister who has always been her number one fan. Together they completed their
Veterinary Science/Veterinary Biology (Double Degrees) in 2013 from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
Jess finished with an Honours degree relating to the treatment of uterine infections in the mare. During
university she trained in equine veterinary hospitals in Scotland and New Zealand. She also pursued casual
employment in the equine industry, working in racing stables, on breeding properties and assisting during
yearling preparations and showing.
After graduation, Jess has worked in mixed animal practices and sole equine clinics in Queensland, NSW and
Victoria. Jess was the North QLD young member representative for the Australian Equine Veterinary
Association in 2016. She has completed further training in equine dentistry and ultrasonography.
Jess has a keen interest for breeding and neonatal care and thus has lined up for her 7th breeding season for
2021. Jess will continue to service Twin Hills Thoroughbred Stud as their on-farm veterinarian. She is delighted
for the prospect to continue to service this world-class operation and their clients’ during this critical time in
the breeding calendar.
Outside work, Jess enjoys playing sports and exploring the great outdoors with her excitable wolfhound,
Buddy. In her spare time, you will find her riding her own lovely quarter horse mare.
Jess is excited to be returning to the Riverina to continue the high standard of equine veterinary care that is
offered by REVS. She has not yet, however, been able to get used to the southern winters again!
